We have had a great couple of days in Chicago. But no, the camper is still not running right.

On Tuesday, while I was sitting waiting for the camper work to be done, Sammi, Daniel and Missy went to the city. Their priority, Wrigley Field, of course. They went on a tour of the ballpark, learned about the history and even got to sit in the press box! I think it's safe to say, Sammi was in heaven. Take a look at the great shot she took in the locker room. Can you tell in the picture from the press box who is into baseball and who is not? In all fairness it was pretty hot in the stadium.

From there, they visited the Field museum and the worlds most famous T-Rex, Sue. Sue is famous because it is the most intact T-rex specimen found to date. Sammi loved the mummies and the Egyptian exhibits while Daniel loved the 3D movie aptly named the Waking of T-Rex. Note the change in attitude from the previous picture of Daniel! He is in dinosaur heaven!

Back at Indian Dunes State Park, Missy and Sammi took a dip in the warm and calm waters of Lake Michigan while Daniel sat with me in the waiting room and watched his new Dinosaur movie series that he picked up at the museum.
Tuesday night we had a gusty thunderstorm roll through that ushered in cooler air from the North!
Wednesday kicked off cloudy and a little humid, but the sky quickly cleared and it turned breezy and warm with almost no humidity. A perfect day.

We drove back down into Chicago to the Shed Aquarium. The Shed is the second largest aquarium, by water volume, after the Georgia Aquarium! The aquarium had a really cool beluga whale and dolphin exhibit that looked out onto Lake Michigan.
From there we walked to the Bean in Millennium park and had a nice lunch.
Then we wandered over to the Sears Tower (oops, the Willis Tower now, but everyone still calls it the Sears Tower.). This is the tallest free standing structure in the Western Hemisphere! Over 1400 feet tall and 110 stories, with some of the fastest elevators in the world. It also has The Ledge, a glass enclosed box that is cantilevered over four feet outside the 103 floor,1350 feet directly above the Chicago river! We all thought Daniel would have a problem with the height, but as you can see, he had no issue hamming it up for the camera.

Can you believe they all went out on the ledge! Turns out I was the one who couldn't take the view!! Note, no pictures of me! (Don't let him fool you he did step out there for a quick picture but we couldn't get him out there again-Missy)
The view from the top was great, although we couldn't see all the way to Michigan!
Tonight we came back to Indiana Dunes ready to swim in the lake and they wouldn't let anyone in because of a risk of rip tides! Yes, the lake had waves, but it was nothing like the Atlantic. No amount of arguing with the life guard about this little issue would convince them to let us in the water though.

To round out our day we took a walk to the top of the sand dune known as Mt Tom and watched the sun set. It was a great show tonight, check out some of our pictures. You could even see Chicago!!! But you have to look really, really hard at the picture of the ship sailing north out of Gary, Indiana. Squint your eyes, the Sears Tower is right in the middle of the ship, on the horizon.

Thursday, Missy and the kids plan to head back into the city, while I drive an hour and a half back to the RV Capitol of the world, Elkhart, Indiana, to try again to get the camper fixed.
I leave you with this great shot Missy took downtown today! I will just keep thinking about it all day tomorrow- Improve your daily outlook, Pure Michigan!!!
